Loss Prevention & Facilities Manager
Purpose of the Role
The Loss Prevention and Facilities Manager is responsible for reducing losses, developing systems to protect personnel, information and physical assets against losses occurring as a result of operational inefficiencies, criminal activity, unethical practices and disaster. The incumbent will also be responsible for the maintenance, repair and upkeep of all buildings, facilities, grounds, vehicles and equipment (including forklifts, a/c units, generators and industrial saws).
Principal Responsibilities
- Develop and implement loss prevention plans and programs taking into consideration best practices and international standards.
- Assess security needs and ensure proper deployment of resources, including managing staff and/or technology and external security providers.
- Assist in identifying of control weaknesses and implement or recommend solutions for improvements.
- Conduct investigations as well as security and safety audits of all locations.
- Ensure the maintenance, repair and upkeep of all buildings, facilities, grounds, vehicles and equipment (forklifts, a/c units, generators, industrial saws etc.) in a timely manner and within budget
- Coordinate procurement of equipment, supplies and materials to perform required maintenance/repairs or required duties effectively and efficiently.
Key Competences
- Knowledge of internal investigation procedures, including planning, interviewing techniques, test and sampling methods involved in conducting investigations
- Fraud awareness
- Ability to gather, analyze and evaluate facts and prepare concise written reports
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- High degree of confidentiality along with good interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of laws and regulations relating to HR, Fraud and Governance
Special Requirements
- Ability to meet a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends and available on-call for emergencies by telephone and/or cell phone.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable motor vehicle
Minimum Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business or other related discipline
- At least 5 years relevant experience, preferably in multi-site retail environment
- Experience in and knowledge of security operations, procedures and standards
