The Job:

The Library Technician will perform routine circulation and acquisition functions using an online computer system and will be required to maintain a computerised borrower/patron record. The incumbent will also provide information and assistance to users on library policy and procedures and assist patrons in locating circulation or reference materials.

The Library Technician will also perform daily operational and collection maintenance, including shelving, processing of library materials for circulation, and copy cataloguing of library materials.

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have:

• an associate in applied science degree in library and information science;
• a minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Library Assistant/ Library Technician;
• good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Productivity Tools;
• excellent communication skills;
• demonstrated ability to interact and engage with patrons in a professional setting.
