URGENT: Nurse Educator with Master's Degree & at least four years' clinical practice experience to teach several subjects including Critical Care/Emergency Nursing. Benefits: two-year contract, health insurance, pension & annual leave. Salary range: CI$51,228-$68,652 p/a (CI$1.00 = US $1.25)

The University College of the Cayman Islands invites applications for a suitably qualified person to fill the position of Nurse Educator in the BSc in Nursing programme to begin August 15, 2016.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should possess the following: 

  • A Master’s degree in Nursing Education or related field from an approved university;

  • A minimum of four years comprehensive experience in clinical practice;

  • Evidence of having taught for at least three years at the undergraduate level;

  • Knowledge of planning, implementation and evaluation of educational  programmes for nurses;

  • Ability to teach in more than one subject area including Critical Care/Emergency Nursing;
  • A track record in the maintenance of academic and professional excellence;
  • Registration with or eligible for registration with the Nursing Council of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands Nursing & Midwifery Council;

  • Current certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR);

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and team building skills to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with students and colleagues;

  • Administrative and programme coordination skills;

  • Computer proficiency;

  • Ability to learn and work with clinical simulation software;

  • Experience with using Blackboard Learning Management System will be an asset;

  • Ability to drive and obtain a Caymanian Driver’s Licence within 30 days of employment.

Benefits: Two year contract, medical and pension plan, annual leave.

Salary Range: Senior Lecturer CI$ 51,228- 68,652 per annum. (CI$1.00 = US$1.25)
