LOANS OFFICER
Office Gems is facilitating the recruitment of a Loans Officer for a Credit Union. The Loans Officer is a part of a customer focused team, serving as the primary resource for sales and service related needs to achieve Credit Union Goals.
The Credit Union is a community-based credit union. They offer a wide range of products and services designed to improve the economic, social and spiritual well-being of its members. This position will be based in Curepe.

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
The Loans Officer will be required to:
- Welcome members and provide routine information concerning services; provide service to the limits of assigned authority and perform member service as needed
- Describe to members, the application review process and provide recommendations. Discuss key aspects of financing such as rates, terms and payment amounts. Answer questions and advise customers regarding loans and transactions
- Interview loan applicants to obtain personal and financial data and to assist in completing applications
- Verify and examine information and accuracy of loan application and closing documents
- Evaluate and verify loan applications and credit criteria
- Review customer accounts to determine whether payments are made on time and that other loan terms are being followed
- Assemble and compile documents for loan closings in keeping with the loan checklist
- Record applications for loan and credit, loan information and disbursements of funds using computers
- Submit loan applications with recommendation for review/ approval as appropriate
- Ensure that lending operations are conducted in accordance with established Credit Union policies and are legally compliant
- Contact customers by mail, telephone or in person concerning acceptance or rejection of applications
- Handle walk-in and telephone inquiries pertaining to lending
- Research problems encountered by members with a view to finding a solution
- Cross-sell Product and Services of the Credit Union and direct members to the appropriate department for specific information and service
- Be responsible for performing collection activities associated with various delinquent member accounts that are late, potentially delinquent, delinquent, or charged off
- Review delinquent accounts, determine probable reasons for account status and contact members to resolve the delinquencies. Utilize various techniques, as circumstances indicate, to promptly collect on delinquent accounts
- Assist with daily department functions when necessary
- Perform any other duties that may be required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- At least 2-3 years in Financial Services Sector
- Pleasant personality and excellent customer relations skills
- Organized and strong time management skills
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
- Computer literate with extensive proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience
