LINE OPERATOR AND PACKER

Our client is seeking is seeking a Line Operator and Packer to provide support of the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution plant in Maypen. 

Essential Job Functions Include:

  • Obtains, reviews and verifies the production orders to determine the source and specific product to be filled
  • Verify that sp. gravity and weight information is correct and determines the fill weight by using the formula provided by the Lab.
  • Verify all raw materials for correctness
  • Determine the lines or method of moving the product from the storage tank to the filling machine
  • Clean transfer lines in accordance to procedure and flush the filling system with the required amount of new product to produce a filled material.
  • Direct the set-up of the line and adjust the equipment for the packaging materials to be used.
  • Verify the instructions on the Production Order against the Pack Code Bill of Material.
  • Follow the described quality and inspection procedures as outlined
  • Ensure cans/bottle are properly sealed and cleaned and anti-counterfeit sticker are placed in its designated area
  • Pack the cases ensuring the quality of case markings and labels (batch number and fill date code) and checking for and reporting any damages to cans/bottle and cases.
  • Follow any Special Packaging instructions given from supervisor
  • All other related duties and assignments as required by the Plant Manager 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should be able to demonstrate and provide the following:   

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum: High School, at least 5 CXC’s
  • 1 year experience in food related plant operations preferred
  • Certified to operate forklift  
  • Verbal and Written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to read detailed formula sheets and understand technical instructions
  • Excellent work ethic, with desire to exceed customer expectations
  • Ability to work Independently, in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Basic mechanical knowledge of computerized machines, gauges, and hand tools
  • General knowledge of material handling, manufacturing processes, quality control systems
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and decimals.
  • Ability to follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Concentrate on a task over several minutes without being distracted.
  • Arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern.
  • Physically move objects safely by using proper lifting techniques.

Equipment Operation:

  • Capable to operate associated equipment and machinery, through training, so as to complete the work scheduled for the day

Physical Demands:

  • Capable of lifting/moving up to 50 lbs boxes on a continuous basis
  • Ability to deal with constant change
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours)
  • Ability to make frequent bending, and full body rotating movements
  • Ability to work with strong scents
