Applications are invited for the post of Laboratory Technician I (Grade 7) in the Department of Life Sciences.
Duties of the post include:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Applicants must have a working knowledge of standard laboratory methods, practices, procedures policies and regulations as it relates to laboratory materials and equipment. The applicant must have a working knowledge of general laboratory operations and practical exposure to laboratory procedures; Candidates must possess specialised skills in biochemistry as demonstrated by the possession of relevant vocational training and on the job training; working knowledge and experience with current equipment used in a biochemistry laboratory and biochemistry methodologies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
A relevant Technician’s Diploma/Associate Degree or equivalent qualifications in Biochemistry or a related field from any recognized institution.
Desirable:
A BSc Degree with a major in Biochemistry or related discipline would be an asset.
Experience

At least three (3) years relevant work experience.

Salary will be fixed in accordance with Grade 7 of the salary scale
($7,476.00 to $9,652.00).
