LABORATORY SUPERVISOR - ENERGY SYSTEMS AND PETROLEUM ENGINEERING

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinates the planning and preparation of equipment and related teaching and learning aids;

  • Instructs, supervises and supports workshop/laboratory exercises;

  • Demonstrates the use of equipment and other required material;

  • Oversees research and data collection activities;

  • Provides feedback, guidance and support to students;

  • Sources materials and equipment from suppliers;

  • Maintains inventory of all equipment in the area of responsibility;

  • Performs minor maintenance work on equipment;

  • Develops and implements operational guidelines and practices in the laboratory;

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering

  • Minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience

    COMPETENCIES

  • Extensive knowledge of the area of instruction being demonstrated
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant software, hardware and lab equipment to be used in exercises
  • Ability to successfully instruct
  • Ability to work effectively in teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
