K-9 HANDLER

JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent will be responsible to provide compassionate and attentive care of the animals at all times, and maintain a clean healthy environment for the animals.

 KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Feeds and waters animals according to schedules.
• Clean, organize, and disinfect Animal quarters such as cages and yards; Sterilizes Kennel area and animal equipment such as water containers, bowls etc.
• Examines animals for signs of illness and treats them according to instructions.
• Records information according to instructions, such as diet, weight, size, physical condition, treatments received, medications given etc.
• Perform animal grooming duties such as washing, brushing, clipping, and trimming coats, anesthetizes, inoculates, shaves, bathes, clips, cutting nails, and cleaning ears.
• Install, maintain, and repair animal care facility equipment such as feeding devices, and cages.
• Order, unload, and store feed and supplies.
•  Mix food, liquid formulas, medications, or food supplements according to instructions, prescriptions, and knowledge of animal species.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in a similar position;
• The holder of a valid Trinidad and Tobago driver’s license;
• Must be able to drive Manual
• Certificate in Defensive Driving will be an asset;
• Must Live on Premises

 THE SALARY FOR THIS POSITION IS TT$18.00 PER HOUR
