Junior Electrical Engineer

The Desalination Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (Desalcott) maintains its position as the largest operating desalination facility in the western hemisphere. The plant produces and supplies potable water to the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA).

Desalcott is currently seeking to recruit a dynamic individual to fill the position of Junior Electrical Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively ensuring the completion of routine Electrical jobs on site.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Co-ordinate Daily Planned Work and Preventative Maintenance
2. Co-ordinate New and Emergency Jobs
3. Ensure that Work Permits, Work Requests, Preventative Maintenance Reports and Weekly general reports are submitted on a timely basis.
4. Ensure that spares are ordered to maintain reliability on the plant
5. Assists in determining specifications for ordering of new and existing equipment
6. Provide emergency response
7. Successfully plan and execute shutdown jobs in the specified time
8. Ensure that administrative requirements are met
9. Supervise use of contractors where there is a lack of available manpower, expertise or equipment
10. Additional duties as identified by Senior Electrical Engineer

Qualifications:

1. BSc Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
2. Minimum of 2 years industrial experience

10. Must possess  working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act 2004 (Amended in 2006)
