We invite applications for a new Digicel Opportunity - CAD/GIS Drafter
Primary objective of the job:
Candidate will leverage computer aided design (AutoCAD) and mapping systems (Geographic Information Systems (GIS) based) to prepare OSP design drawings for permit submittals and project deliverables within a Fibre To The Home (FTTH) environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The GIS/CAD Drafter must be capable of drafting clear, detailed, and complete drawings with accurate detail that incorporate:
- permitting ordinances
- design inputs and layouts
- field sketches and notes
This candidate must be able to comprehend, interpret and render verbal inputs from the field teams as required. The GIS/CAD Drafter must have experience creating material lists and preparing material withdrawals as needed.
Candidate must have in depth experience preparing single line drawings in AutoCAD, transposing data in GIS systems and ensuring that field deployments are accurate with database information.
Training/Mentoring: Capable of knowledge management and team learning by transferring knowledge through workshops, mentoring and coaching, presentations and on the job training for colleagues.

Academic qualifications and experience required for job:
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in drafting and engineering design (preferably Communication Network Design)
- GIS Training and/or experience in the design, development, drafting, programming, implementation and maintenance of programs and applications for a GIS or computerized mapping system
- AutoCAD certified
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar environment
Functional Skills:
- Computer Literate in a Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc)
- Report / business Writing Skills
- Project management skills
- Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to manage and lead on projects.
- Ability to mentor the other members of the team
