Our client, a distribution firm in Trinidad and Tobago, is searching for a competent individual to fill the post of Inventory Control Officer.

JOB OPPORTUNITY

Inventory Control Officer

The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate data entry of all new inventory items into system. Accurately updates cost prices and calculates all corresponding selling prices in the system. Reconciles any changes in inventory with regards to returned, damaged or exchanged items. Maintains a good, working, updated insight of quantity levels and follows an efficient re-ordering system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Managing Partner with the ordering process.
  • Track inventory orders until their final destination at warehouse.
  • Complete the costing of shipments and input same into inventory software.
  • Continuously monitor stock to ensure that inventory levels are maintained.
  • Research and verify variances and take corrective measures.
  • Review systems and procedures related to the effective control of inventory with emphasis on accountability.
  • Continuous monitoring and comparison of changes related to increases in inventory costs with the sale price of goods.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual and semi-annual stock taking activity including the preparation of stock count sheets and the spearheading of actual stock count. 

Education, Qualifications, Experience & Skills/Abilities:

  • Level 2 CIPS certification AND at least five (5) CXC/GCE ‘O’ level passes (including Mathematics and English Language) at General Proficiency
  • At least four (4) years experience in a similar position
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel
  • Experience in the use of Peachtree Accounting and accounting processes and procedures related to Inventory Management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills

Compensation Range:

  • TTD$ 7,000 - $7,500 per month
