JOB DESCRIPTION

Position:                INVENTORY CLERK

Reports To:           INVENTORY MANAGER

Support Staff:       N/A

Main Purpose:     

To assist the Inventory Manager in planning, organizing and executing the Inventory Control Department’s responsibility for inventory management for Standard Distributors Limited (SDL).

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure that the Group’s and company’s policies are being strictly adhered to.
2. Enforcement and execution of the systems and controls to ensure stock shrinkage are nil.
3. Ensure that physical inventory matches with the system/sub-ledger.
   a.All Transfer Ins, Transfer outs, Return to Stock and Goods returned are correctly allocated.
   b.Where there are differences between physical inventory and system/sub-ledger, these differences are thoroughly investigated and solved.
4. Identify and investigate each/any variances observed, and reported accordingly.
5. Ensure all stock is validated during weekly counts.
6. Stock counts and reports must also identify any stock which is damaged or obsolete.
7. Conduct 100% (wall to wall) quarterly counts of all departments inclusive of parts and service.
8. Ensure good housekeeping in stockrooms and warehouse.
   a.All items properly labeled and securely stored.
   b.Sorted by category.
   c.Packed orderly.
   d.Able to be visible for count.
9. To liaise with Showroom Managers and Department Heads to compile stock write off listings.
10. To validate all stock prior to submission of said listing.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• CAT Level 2/ACCA Level 1.
• Minimum of two (2) years working experience, preferably in retail.
• Working knowledge of MS Office.
