Investment Advisor
The Investment Advisor acquires, develops and maintains an affluent client base for the company, utilizing its suite of Mutual Funds as well as upselling its Private Wealth offering where possible. He/She offers basic financial and investment advice, demonstrated by a thorough understanding of the company’s products and services.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Client Acquisition, Maintenance & Retention
Establish a network of referrals and develops COI’s.
Balance referral activities, customer follow up, prospect building, and administrative tasks and required pipeline reporting etc.
Work closely with families, individuals and businesses to provide customized recommendations to help meet their financial goals.
Consult with clients on risk tolerance, investment strategies, options, products and services that are suitable for their needs.
Track and translates investment performance and making recommendations.
Increase the assets under management of existing clients through upselling of Suite of Mutual funds and Private Wealth offering.
Retain Clients/ Sales, monitoring and reporting of redemptions, client satisfaction with Funds/performance etc.
Assist the Manager - Sales with defining, segmenting and targeting of company's Market.
2. Client Relationship
Build a strong and long-term relationship with clients.
Follow up, ensuring that all client enquiries and requests are handled promptly and accurately.
Keep clients abreast of GAM’s new product offerings, policies and procedures.
Keep clients abreast of their investment performance semi – annually / annually.
Facilitate yearly portfolio allocation sessions with clients - utilizing company’s Investment Calculators etc.
Assist with internal administration of client application.
Regularly updates client information to meet Compliance guidelines.
3. Client Education & Brand Recognition
Keep abreast of competitor and market information.
Conduct client education seminars/presentations.
Demonstrate expertise via Thought Leadership activities - e.g. writing articles for website etc.
Participate in market research, sales events and promotions as required.
Participate in various group Sales strategies e.g. Social Media, referral campaigns etc.
4.Perform any other job- related duties as assigned by the Sales Manager.
Performance Standards:
1.The performance standards are financial targets that are set and reviewed half-yearly. The financial targets are informed by the strategic and operational plans and the associated budget. The key performance indicators are:
Revenue/ Profit/ New Business generated
Assets under management (AUM)
AUM and Client Retention (an Intra-Year Retention Rate of 85% is expected)
Education:
A First Degree from a recognized tertiary educational institution preferably in Finance or finance related.
Experience:
At least three (3) years’ experience in the Financial services environment
At least two (2) years’ sales experience in a similar capacity with a proven track record of developing financial customers.
Specialized training in Marketing of financial products will be an asset
Sound knowledge of financial management, investment products and services
