We invite applications for a new Digicel Opportunity - Human Resources Executive - Recruitment & Employee Development
Primary objective of the job:
HR Executive's primary responsibility will include:
- Providing the HR team with effective operational support on all aspects Digicel Jamaica's employee development programmes including programme
design, monitoring and evaluation
- Ensuring that each new employer has a smooth and effective transition into Digicel. The HR Executive will manage all activities between offer
acceptance and the completion of probation.
- Coordinating all activities that support Digicel's relationship with universities and other educational institutions

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Key activities will include partnering with the Digicel Jamaica Hiring Managers and the rest of the HR team to:
Employee Development
- Assist with the design, development and implementation of employee development programmes around functional competencies
- Coordinate all activities that support's the designed employee development programmes
- Develop functional competency matrix to assist with career mapping and assessment
- Conduct skills gap analysis, include competency profiling and other needs assessment of to assist with career guidance and employee development
- Develop functional skills matrix for departments as requested
- Use functional skills matrix and individual needs assessment to design developmental interventions/solutions
- Provide career guidance and coaching for employees within the Jamaica market
- Make recommendations for learning intervention to assist employees in achieving their career goals
- Design and monitor the progress of participants in relevant employee development programmes
On-boarding
- Manage Digicel's new employee onboarding programme
- Notify all stakeholders' new employees' arrival.
- Coordinate and facilitate Digicel's first-day orientation to ensure that it is effectively executed within specified timelines: conduct introductions/tour,
provide new employee package, and arrange welcome gift & a day-one partner for new employees.
- Organize and facilitate Digicel new employee Induction
- Follow up with new employees and managers to ensure that all probationary activities are completed within the first three months of employment.
Probationary activities include First Day Orientation, Induction, IT Security Course, IDP Training, MS Outlook Training, and any other activity as
determined by the Talent Manager.
University Relations
- Plan and execute Digicel's participation in career/job fairs hosted by our partners institutions
- Manage Digicel's summer employment programmes
Other
- Conduct job interviews up to the support level
- Participate as resource team to support policy, programme and procedure development as well as legal and compliance issues and other HR projects
as required.
- Collect and analyze data related to Employee Development, On-boarding and University Relations for monthly reporting.
- Report on all matters related to Employee Development, On-boarding and University Relations
- Provide regular and adhoc reports as required
- Respond to general HR queries from internal/external customers via telephone or email.
- Carry out any other duties assigned

Academic qualifications and experience required for job (Minimum):
- Bachelors' Degree in Human Resource Management, Management Studies, Career Planning or any other related field.
- Minimum two (2) years' experience in Human Resources Management.
- Experience in programme design and management.

Specialized knowledge, skills and training required:
- Working knowledge of career and on-boarding.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Outstanding facilitation and coaching skills.
- Must be results focused, with a commitment to measuring progress.
- High level of confidentiality.
- Ability to be flexible and respond to a variety of urgent and critical issues in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite of Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Internal/External contacts:
- All Departments and employees within the company.
- Key talent, New Hires, HR team, University institutions.

Authority: (those task in which there is total control and autonomy in execution). Please state limits where possible.
- Full authority to act within scope of responsibility.
- Authority to execute other activities as directed by the HR Director (Jamaica) and the Recruitment and Employee Development Manager (Jamaica).

Working Condition: (e.g. dust, dirt, heat, abnormal hours, frequent travel, overtime, etc.
- May be required to work outside the set work hours.
- Expected to operate within an 'open" concept office environment.
- May be required to travel island-wide occasionally.

Key Performance Indicators:
- Timely achievement of all agreed KPI's
- On-boarding against rigorous time, quality and service demands, - ensuring all work is delivered to acceptable and agreed time, cost and quality
measures.
