Our Client is looking for an incumbent to fill the role of HR Director in the technology industry based in Guyana.
Director – People & Culture
The Director will report to the CEO and will work with the various departmental leaders on organizational and staff planning, alignment of roles to business needs, recruitment/retention of employees, onboarding and training, employee and industrial relations, reinforcing a positive cultural environment, creative problem solving and performance management. The role will interface with the corporate Director of Human Resources to ensure use of best practices and to leverage corporate HR support capabilities. Work with the CEO, group leaders, and corporate HR on staff plans.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
The key roles and objectives include, but are not limited to, the following
• Ensure a solid talent pipeline. Support hiring managers in recruitment of personnel (create job descriptions, screen candidates, extend offers, manage candidate flow and network of recruiters, and play a more active direct recruiting role in certain instances).
• Work with hiring managers to develop and execute onboarding plans.
• Work with departmental managers on training and development priorities and programs.
• Work with departmental managers on performance management processes, including rewards and incentive ideas, as well as performance improvement plans, warnings and terminations.
• Be the point person for industrial relations and maintain a positive, constructive working relationship with the Company's union
• Play an active role with company management in helping to reinforce a great can-do culture. Be a champion for the Company's culture that the CEO and his team are striving to reinforce.
• Ensure compliance to company policies.
• Participate in relevant office teams (e.g., worker safety)
• Stay current on competitive demands for talent and market compensation levels

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The People and Culture Director will have:
• 7+ years’ of relevant functional experience in organizations with office and field staff levels numbering in the 100+ range.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Behavior, Business or a related field is required.
• A demonstrable and proven track record of functioning as a valuable HR partner to business leadership.
• Experience working within a growing technical organization (experience in the technology industry is desirable, but not required), with a proven track record of effectively working with administrative, technical and unionized workforces.
