Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for the delivery of Human Resources services within the assigned regions of responsibility. Activities include:
- Administers various human resource plans and procedures for company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook, policies, and procedures manual.
- Provides support to on how to best develop employees including creation of job descriptions, identifying training opportunities, providing input on human resources planning, and career pathing opportunities.
- Performs benefits administration including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees.
- Administers employee retention programs including employee surveys and exit interviewing.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Provides advice/counselling to staff that face various obstacles and facilitates equitable solutions that meet the needs of both the employee and organization.
- Researches human resource initiatives and provides recommendations on best practices.
- Administers performance review and disciplinary processes ensuring communication has occurred, policies are followed, and deadlines/commitments are followed through.
- Administers Occupational Health and Safety within the workplace ensuring a safe healthy workplace which promotes productivity and a positive wellbeing.
- Maintains up to date information within HRIS database systems.
- Complies with all legislation surrounding privacy and confidential employer/employee information.
- Prepares and provides reports as assigned.

- Facilitates the interview process which includes pre-screening, interviewing, background checks, follow up, and job offer.
- Provides recommendations on recruitment strategies and development including employee screening, staffing needs, advertising, sourcing and labour conditions.
- Prepares and posts job advertisements.
- Facilitates the employee onboarding process including orientation.
- Coordinates recruitment efforts with the appropriate department(s) or hiring manager.
Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
- Proven knowledge of Human Resources best practices, Labour Relations Legislation, and Human Rights requirements.
- Proven leadership skills with a focus on employee retention, recognition, and motivation.
- Ability to handle confidential material which is critical, the candidate must demonstrate high levels of integrity and trustworthiness.
- Proven knowledge of recruitment processes and best practices.
- Ability to work as part of a team, and to work collaboratively with individuals from other departments.
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
- Ability to manage projects from inception through execution.
- Methodical approach, detail oriented and highly organized.
- Team focused positive attitude, must be self-motivated, and possess very good time management and exceptional communication skills both in written and verbal English.
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years experience within a Human Resources or relating field of employment.
- Experience within the BPO/contact centre industry would be an asset.
Education
- Completion of post-secondary education with a degree or diploma in Business or Human Resources Management.
Other
- Satisfactory completion of a police check.
