HR Officer

HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER

 

THE JOB

Main Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and selection of employees – both local and foreign

  • Orientation of all new employees

  • Participate in the appraisal of employees – probationary and developmental

  • Assist with collation of data and other IR support documentation as required

  • Assist in the coordination of all training and development interventions

  • Monitor Time and Attendance Records and advise on actions required to curb tardiness and excessive absenteeism

  • Provide draft responses to incoming correspondence and prepare draft ad hoc reports

  • Liaise with the Accountant and Payroll Officer on HR issues affecting payroll

  • Assist in the administration of Health and Life Plans, Workmen’s Compensation and NIS Claims

  • Participate in the coordination and execution of all Social functions

  • Institute initial staff grievance hearings and compile reports to management

  • Complete monthly activity reports as a subset of the overall departmental report

  • Treat with miscellaneous HR related queries from staff and third parties

     

    Minimum Requirements and Experience: 

  • First Degree in any of the Social Sciences

  • Three (3) years experience in a Human Resource environment

  • Computer Literate in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Any other combination of qualifications, training and experience
