Job Title: Human Resource Manager Job Purpose: Responsible for developing, managing and monitoring the implementation of human resource, corporate communications and Medical Units within the company.

Our client located in southen Trinidad is seeking to fill the position of Human Resource Manager within their organisation. This company has been in the extraction and mining industry for over fifty(50) years.

Job Title: Human Resource Manager

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Job Purpose: Responsible for developing, managing and monitoring the implementation of human resource, corporate communications and Medical Units within the company.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Recommend revision of existing or adoption of new organisational, personnel and communicates policies, plans and programmes.
  2. Advise the Chief Executive Officer on and participates in labour relations matters.
  3. Represent the Company at appropriate stages of the Grievance Procedure.
  4. Lead teams in the provision of human management services and corporate communications administration.
  5. Liaises with the Health, Safety and Environment team to promote health and safety of all personnel and maintain satisfactory working conditions.
  6. Review cases involving disciplinary action to ensure that contractual provisions are met and that the facts warrant the decision.
  7. Negotiate contracts with Union(s)/ Association(s) representing employees; calls and chairs Management/Union meetings.
  8. Counter sign performance appraisal reports to ensure conformity with Departmental expectations. 
  9. Direct the development of new initiatives to improve the general human resource services required by the Company.
  10. Recommend revision of existing or adaption of new organisational structure, personnel and communicates policies, plans and programmes.
  11. Manage, train and develop the human resources within his/ her Unit in accordance with human resources standards and practices.
  12. Comply with all health, safety and environment policies and procedures.
  13. Perform any other job-related duties that are given by the immediate supervisor or anyone duly authorized to act in the position.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Post graduate qualifications in Human Resource Management/Business Management.
  • An undergraduate degree in any Social Sciences, Management Studies or Business Management. 
  • 8- 10 years experience in a senior management position.

 

 

Specific Skills/ Experience/ Knowledge:

 

 

  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • High communication skills
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning and management.
  • Negotiation skills would be considered an asset.
