The Tides Restaurant (The Tides) is a fine dining Restaurant that has built a reputation as one of the finest restaurants on the island of Barbados. The Tides continues to build a team of highly skilled culinary professionals, each of whom is committed to the delivery of excellence in a product and service, and to the enhancement of our tourism Industry.

The Tides is looking for a person to fill the position of:

Head Chef

The Head chef will report to the Executive Chef. She/he will be responsible for cooking a high standard within the time constrains of dining service, encouraging a strong team spirit ensuring that hygiene standards are maintained an assisting with the designing of menus and its execution.

The ideal candidate should have:

  •  A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years ‘experience in an international fine dining kitchen.
  •  A minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years ‘experience in a fine dining establishment as a sous or Head Chef
  • Trained in the basic techniques of French Cuisine
  • Experience in creating and executing menus and daily making
  • Some experience in creating and executing menus
  • The ability to supervise and motivate a kitchen team of 15 chef.

 

The successful candidate must demonstrate;

  • . An ability to communicate and to think strategically in a rapid – response environment.
  • . Willingness to work in a shift system
  • . Excellent interpersonal, written an oral communications skills
