GOVERNMENT OF BERMUDA Ministry of Justice CROWN COUNSEL PS42 $142,537 Department of Public Prosecutions Ref: 5231/75/0008/RA/OS Applicants are invited to the post of Crown Counsel within the Department of Public Prosecutions. The Department of Public Prosecutions has the responsibility for prosecution of all criminal cases in the courts of Bermuda. The successful applicant will conduct prosecutions in all courts in Bermuda, provide legal advice to Ministries and Departments, draft documents as directed by the Director of Public Prosecutions and assist in the training of Crown Counsel (Junior Grade) and pupils. The post holder will be required to:
Applicants must be a Barrister/Attorney-at-Law qualified to practice law in a Commonwealth jurisdiction, and must have a minimum of five (5) years’ criminal advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal as well as experience in training, development and mentoring more junior counsel and pupils. This position will be offered on a three (3) year contract term.
