Our client, a large Caribbean conglomerate is establishing a sales and distribution office in Jamaica and now seeks a capable, results driven General Manager who is experienced in the industry, who can direct strategic plans that deliver brand/business growth and service quality. 

GENERAL MANAGER

The Role

• Define company direction in this market and provide strong leadership to a small high performance team in establishing aggressive but realistic plans to grow and optimize the business.
• Manage financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments and increase efficiency.
• Relentlessly pursue sound opportunities to build sales blending strategic and commercial deliverables.
• Facilitate a culture that values teamwork and innovation, moves with alacrity and provides exceptional customer service.

Preferred Profile

• A Bachelor’s Degree with 5-8 years senior business management experience with sound credentials in sales force management, customer service and marketing.  An MBA would be an asset. 
• Comprehensive knowledge of the decorative, automotive and industrial coatings market would be a decided advantage.        
• Experienced in highly successful business start-up and development and commercial expertise.
• Level-headed, able to evaluate opportunities and associated risks.
• Resilient, highly  responsive to issues with the ability to influence, motivate and develop a cohesive team.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• A confident communicator, with excellent client facing, negotiation and configuration skills  and the ability to represent the company appropriately with its stakeholders.
