Responsible for the timely buying and selling of foreign currencies. Recommends competitive foreign exchange rates based on market performance. Reviews orders to ensure accuracy, proper record keeping, and conformance to regulations. Carries out trades and maintains the organization's accounts.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and Maintain satisfactory Customer Relationships with both internal and external customers.

• Responsible for the timely buying and selling of foreign currencies via computer and telephone according to market changes and customer requests.

• Buys and sells foreign currencies

• Recommends competitive foreign exchange rates based on market performance.

• Reviews orders to ensure accuracy, proper record keeping, and compliance with relevant regulations.

• Carries out trades and maintains the corporation's accounts.

• Responds to client inquires on FX and maintains the corporation's foreign exchange accounts

• Participates in the structuring of complex FX deals.

• Interprets inherent risks in money market speculations.

• Recommends improvements on currency options and financial futures pricing operations.

• Advises others on the profit and loss potential of various types of deals.

• Evaluates risk as it relates to liquidity, inflation, and devaluation collating relevant information and data, and liaising closely with sales staff and inter-dealer brokers

• Determining market sentiment via research, valuation and data analysis

• Keeping up with market trends, debt loads, foreign exchange rates, interest rates, stock markets, economic stability factors, government decisions and political leadership changes.

• Adherence to Regulatory Compliance Guidelines, AML/ATF and Company’s

• policies and procedures for all products and services and customer transactions.

• Assist in the preparation of key statutory reports for the CBTT both monthly and quarterly.

• Shall prepare monthly report on realized trading gains, unrealized gains on translation of month end open positions, bank account activity by currency, interest cost on foreign exchange funding and administration fees earned.

• Prepares ad hoc reports as required.

• Prepare reports on foreign exchange activity for submission to the BOD and ALCO.

• Prepare executive summary of trading activity for the past month, trading data during the month, including the buy and sell rates and profit/loss on each trade, open positions, currency mismatch, short and long positions, strategy/rationale for taking certain positions and sensitivity analysis to movement in exchange rate

• Build a database of Build a database of strategic contacts, quoted board rates, average buy and sell rates, results of auctions.

• Attend traders meetings with CBTT on a monthly basis.

   

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

·      Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or related subject; progress towards or completion of an advanced financial degree will be considered an asset.

·      At least 3 years FX trading and/or back office experience a strong asset

·      Knowledge of financial markets and foreign exchange instruments, including FX forwards, and the ability to demonstrate understanding of basic option strategies

·      Proficient in use of computer applications in particular Microsoft suite of products.
