We invite applications for a new Digicel Opportunity - Financial Reporting Manager
Primary objectives of the job:
- To ensure efficient management of financial reporting areas in the Finance department, to include month end reporting, statutory reporting, tax reporting, internal audit reporting, half year and quarterly reporting. Ensure accurate and timely information flow for financial accounts and other reports (internal and external) within Co. timelines, and in accordance with accounting standards.
Number of persons managed/supervised and their positions:
- One direct report: Systems/ Financial Accountant
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of month end reporting pack.
- Month-end Reporting timetable
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly Board Report
- Co-ordination and review of all Board report inputs
- Quarterly and Half Year Accounting and Tax packs.
- Internal audit liaison
- Preparation of all statutory returns (GCT & STC & Company Filings)
- Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation review and action listing
- Accounting and responsibility for assigned accounts
Academic qualifications and experience required for job:
- Qualified Accountant for minimum three (3) years.
- Five (5) years management experience in a large company
Functional Skills:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Work independently, multi-task and thrive in a fast paced environment.
- Strong customer focus, including confidence in resolving issues with staff, suppliers, customers, banks, auditors, tax personnel, and other teams within the organization.
- Ability to organize and motivate team
- Team oriented, with a keen eye for detail.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of IFRS and Co. Statutory requirements
- Confidentiality and trustworthiness
Internal/External contacts:
- Internal- Directors, HOD, Finance Team Jamaica, other functional teams throughout the company
- External-Auditors, Bankers, Customers, Suppliers, Government and Statutory agencies
Authority:
- May include approval of requisitions/invoices
- Prioritize and delegate tasks to team members as necessary
Working Condition:
- The position will require a high level of commitment to ensure relevant deadlines are met.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Complete year end accounts, preparation for audit, and ensure Financial Statements are signed off within Group deadlines
- Monthly management reports within monthly deadlines
- Balance sheet reconciliation review and action plan
- Ensure payments are made within Co., Statutory, supplier timelines (including payroll)
- Completion and execution of projects within stipulated deadlines
