To support the maintenance of facilities infrastructure and ancillary service equipment so as to ensure a safe work environment, the provision of appropriate employee welfare facilities, and the optimization of overall plant performance.
Responsibilities
To assist with the execution of any required corrective actions which are generated as a result of identified safety hazards or environmental aspects.
To communicate any observed hazards to the Plant Superintendent and EHS Officer and to assist with the identification of immediate and longer-term solutions.
To assist with the urgent correction of any conditions related to the inefficient operation of ancillary service equipment (e.g. water supply, air supply, steam supply, fuel supply) such that plant downtime is minimized.
To assist the maintenance team where necessary, with the urgent correction of production equipment failures.
To proactively communicate any observed conditions with facilities infrastructure or ancillary service equipment, which may present possible risks to the timely satisfaction of production schedules, so that contingency plans can be developed.
To ensure that any assigned preventive maintenance inspections and actions related to facilities infrastructure (e.g. drains, roofing, walls, driveways) and ancillary services, are completed effectively and on time.
To ensure that necessary corrective actions resulting from preventive inspections are scheduled and executed in a timely manner so as to prevent equipment failure during production.
To ensure that any spare part or material requirements for jobs assigned, are communicated to the Plant Superintendent, in a timely manner, such that jobs are completed on-time.
To assist the maintenance team where necessary, with the execution of any projects aimed at improving labour productivity or process efficiency.
To assist the maintenance team where necessary, with the implementation of any solutions which prevent loss of material during production.
To assist with the execution of any activities or services which are related to the maintenance of clean and hygienic plant conditions.
To ensure that all reports are completed accurately and on-time.
To assist when necessary with the cleaning of employee welfare facilities.
To execute daily tasks related to the maintenance of employee welfare facilities and to assist with the execution of projects aimed at improving welfare facilities.
To assist with daily management of waste across the facility.
To perform any other related duties as guided by the Plant Superintendent or Maintenance and Engineering Manager
Required Qualifications:
Minimum certification in plumbing and masonry.
Certification in welding would be considered an asset.
Prior certification as a forklift operator would be considered an asset.
Minimum 5 years of experience working on construction projects, where the trade skills of plumbing and masonry were consistently practiced.
