 FIELD OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN (POWER TONG OPERATOR/STABBER)

Job Summary:  

The successful candidates will be responsible for operating and maintaining power and handling equipment in accordance with approved industry standards, quality procedures and safety guidelines. Also, for carrying out “Stabber” duties including pipe alignment, stabbing and operation of hand tools. This is an entry level position with training provided to the successful candidates.

 Minimum Requirements:    

  • 5 CXC/CSEC O’Level Passes including Math & English
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering discipline preferred
  • Computer Literacy – basic level proficiency
  • Between 1-2 years experience working in an offshore/onshore environment with the ability to operate power tongs and perform stabbing duties and/or
  • Knowledge of the upstream oil and gas sector, rig operations, oil tools, tubular management or NDT.

Applicants must ensure that they can meet the following additional requirements: 

  • Possess a valid Trinidad & Tobago Driver’s License
  • Obtain a current Police Certificate of Character
  • Have the ability and willingness to work in a fast paced field (offshore/onshore) services environment; which includes working extended hours, weekends and public holidays from time to time
  • Be a strong team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
