History

The Electrical Industries Group is a group of organizations in Trinidad and Tobago with more than 40 years of experience in manufacturing. We are in the business of manufacturing Electrical Cables, Lighting Fixtures and Plastic products.

Electrical Industries Group was initially formed in 1969, as a joint venture between A.E.I Compounds of the United Kingdom and a local firm. From its inception, the company has been credited as the pioneer of the local cable manufacturing industry. In 1997 EIG was acquired by Trinidad Electrical Manufacturing Corporation Limited (TEMCO) an electrical marketing and Distribution Company. Electrical Industries Limited (EIL) is the largest manufacturer of electrical products in the English-speaking Caribbean and was the first Trinbagonian company to obtain ISO 9000 certification and has since been upgraded to ISO 9001 compliance. In 2009, the company acquired Agos – manufacturers of lighting fixtures. Today, the merged company manufactures and exports a wide range of products including electrical cable, fluorescent lighting and low and medium voltage switchgear. Agos is now known as EIG Lighting and Power
