Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering

Description:

The Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) Degree is a full honours engineering programme that prepares students for careers as professional IT specialists, locally and internationally. The first year of the programme is common to all three options. Students begin their ICT specialisation in the second year of the programme. The programme options are as follows:

  2. Software Engineering
  3. Network and Communication Engineering

Entry Requirements

  • Passes in two (2) CAPE subjects (Units 1 and 2) or GCE A’ Level subjects including Mathematics and Physics, plus General Paper or Caribbean Studies and Communication Studies
  • Any UTT Diploma from the Centre of Information and Communication Technology with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 or equivalent; OR
  • Relevant NEC Technician Diploma; OR
  • Relevant NETD/HNC/HND Technician Diploma; OR
  • First year B.Sc. Natural Science Degree; OR
  • Relevant Associate Degree in a related field; OR
  • Relevant Advanced Diploma in a related field.

Mature Student Entry: An applicant who does not satisfy all the stipulated minimum academic or technical qualifications for admission to the programme may be accepted as a Mature Student. He/she would need to possess the critical elements of the stipulated qualification and would be assessed as possessing a combination of qualifications and educational or experiential maturity to enable him/her to successfully participate in the programme.
