Course Details

Programme Objectives

The purpose of the programme is to provide students with a sound theoretical knowledge and clear understanding of the practical and professional foundations and applications of Information Systems Management.

It allows the student to integrate information technology effectively into managerial processes and business strategies as well as take full advantage of the information technology available.

To analyse, design and construct, implement and evaluate  information systems  to provide business solutions.

To empower people in information technology environments

To demonstrate critical and analytical thinking in the application of knowledge in Information management systems.

Model and design computer decision-making models and  information systems,  networked systems, integration standards and platforms

Use appropriate Information Technology to locate, acquire and analyse data

Demonstrate acceptable managerial qualities, team skills, and collaborative approaches to problem solving.

Programme Structure

The ROYTEC Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems Management (BISM) requires for entry the Associate of Science Degree in Information Systems Management (ADISM). These are offered on a Full-Time and Part-Time basis, each programme taking two years to complete, with a four year overall duration.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems Management Awarded

Please note that the above courses represent a revised programme of study for September 2011. Students who began their studies prior to September 2011 are expected to follow their original programme of study for the Associate of Science Degree in Information Systems Management.

Admission Requirements

• A minimum of five (5) CXC passes, (General Proficiency) Grades I and II (Grade III accepted from June 1998 onwards) or five (5) GCE O’ Level passes, Grades A, B and C or equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics.

• Students may also be considered on the basis of their work experience, training and educational background as deemed relevant by the ROYTEC Admissions Committee to be the equivalent of the above for the purpose of study and may be subject to an interview.
