Edgechem Jamaica Ltd, is located at 18 Carifta Avenue, Nanse Pen Industrial Estate, Kingston 11, and manufactures and distributes Automotive, Furniture, Industrial and Decorative finishes.

With a seed capital of J$1 million, EdgeChem came into being in 1990 to satisfy the need for top quality furniture and automotive finishes. Initially staffed by Two (2) employees and operating out of premises in the inner city community of Olympic Gardens in Kingston, the company continues to move from strength to strength posting net sales of approximately JM$1 (one) Billion and providing employment for over 180 people.

Ms. Frankson (Managing Director) and her team of astute Directors, Chairman, William McLeod, Errol Powell and Geoffrey Messado set about realizing a number of objectives which served to enable them to satisfy a great need in the automotive, hardware and furniture manufacturing sectors.

In 1995, EdgeChem Jamaica Ltd, built its own factory and corporate offices at Nanse Pen in Kingston on 50,000 square feet of land. The 15,000 sq feet of factory space was constructed in nine months.

Over a period of 13 years (1990 –2003), the company expanded not only its physical operations, but also its range of product lines. The Industrial line, which comprised five product lines, was started in 1997. In 2001 the Automel Super automotive refinishing system was launched; the only Caribbean made automotive paint, and in 2004 the company launched Color Glow, a Decorative paint line.

In 2011 the company launched Automel Super Basecoat 2011, a fully locally developed automotive paint system. In 2012, this brand won the Jamaica Manufacturers Association Limited’s Charles Henderson – Davis Award as Breakthrough Product of the year 2011.

In 2012, Edgechem introduced over 1000 beautiful colours from the Edge Spirit tinting system, available in flat, low sheen and gloss oil. Special Corporate colours can be made to order.
Our Marketing and Sales operations extend island wide through our fifteen (16) retail outlets, and over 500 Distributors/Partners. The EdgeChem line of products has earned a reputation for being products of quality. We are fully Jamaican owned, managed and staffed, many of whom have been with the company from its inception.

In 1998 the company expanded its distribution network into the Caribbean exporting to Barbados, Antigua, Trinidad, Belize, St. Lucia, Dominica, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Cayman and Cuba.
