Driver

Position Description
The Driver is responsible for the operation of the Company vehicle to ensure safe transportation and delivery of goods to clients throughout Trinidad. The Driver must ensure the deliver goods to customers in the correct quantities and in good condition and must conduct himself in a courteous and helpful manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintaining assigned vehicle in a clean well functioning manner and all tools and equipment provided are kept safe.
• Driving vehicle in a safe manner to ensure timely and delivery of goods to customers.
• Ensuring all goods for delivery are checked against the respective invoices for accuracy before loading the vehicle and bringing any anomalies to the attention of the Manager.
• Ensuring all goods are properly loaded and secured on the vehicle and are carefully handled to ensure no damage to goods upon delivery to customers.
• Ensuring all goods returned to the Warehouse are in a good condition and also indicating reasons for returned items on the Road Sheet to the Dispatcher.
• Checking all equipment returns against check list for verification that all parts and accessories are accounted for before collecting same from customer, failing which communication must be immediately made to the Manager for instructions.
• Ensuring that all signed bills, documents and cash receipts with relevant invoices are submitted to the Dispatcher immediately upon return to the Warehouse.
• Ensuring that there are no unauthorized goods or personnel on the assigned vehicle.

• Submitting a daily vehicle check lists to the Dispatcher and updating him with the physical and mechanical conditions of the vehicle.  
• Assisting with picking and packing of goods in the Warehouse
• Any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by Management.

Required Knowledge

• A minimum of five (5) years work experience in a similar environment
• Must possess a valid Heavy T driver’s permit.
• Must be over twenty five (25) years of age.
• Minimum of three (3) CXC subjects
• Basic knowledge of geographical areas in Trinidad eg: North, South, East, West as well as Central.

Special Conditions:

• From time to time may have to work alone, with loads not exceeding his lifting capabilities.
• May be required to work late due to the location of customers
