  1. Job Objective 

    Responsible for carrying out Witness Inspection/Visual Examination on components/ assemblies and documentation review in accordance with relevant company and or client supplied procedures / acceptance criteria including international industry specifications.

     

  1. Reporting Line

Reports to the TPI Coordinator

Reports to the (BP) Representative on site or local office

Reports direct to the client by prior agreement

 

  1. Main Tasks and Responsibilities

The Drilling and Completions Inspector is responsible for:

  • Compliance with the relevant safety rules and requirements.
  • That assigned activities are conducted in accordance with approved instructions/procedures & Quality Plans.
  • Relevant examination records are completed, signed/endorsed as a true record prior to inspection.

  • All necessary verification checks are conducted (and recorded where necessary) on materials/ equipment prior to commencement of operations
  • Carrying out the thorough examination of client’s equipment in accordance with relevant regulations / legislation and company procedures.
  • Complete inspection reports within specified timescales
  • Review the relevant technique for the testing method to be used.
  • Ensure the relevant Non Destructive Testing techniques are utilized in accordance with relevant specifications and client/company procedures whilst being overseen by vendor inspector /senior inspector
  • Interpret and evaluate results according to applicable standards, codes or specifications
  • Supporting and liaising with the client.
  • Report the results in a concise and timely manner
  • Concerns or failure of the vendor to comply with the client`s requirements to be included in reports.
  • Significant errors/failures found during inspections shall be reported immediately to the STS Coordinator and NCR to be issued as instructed by the client.

 

  1. HSE Responsibilities

 

The Drilling & Completions Inspector is responsible for ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Company’s Health and Safety & Environmental policy, within their area(s) of responsibility.

 

Specifically These Responsibilities are:-

  1. To fully familiarize themselves with the Company’s Safety Policy, and ensure its implementation at their level.
  2. To ensure persons under their control are adequately trained and fully aware of any hazards in their department.
  3. To report, all accidents and near misses in their section.
  4. To ensure employees use or wear all protective clothing and equipment required for particular jobs, and arrange for replacement/s as may be necessary.
  5. To instruct all employees under their control in the recommended safe job procedures pertaining to particular operations.
  6. To enforce all safety rules and regulations as they apply to their area or as directed by management.
  7. To maintain good housekeeping conditions within the work area.
  8. To carry out regular inspections of the work area so as to ensure compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety & Environmental policy.
  9. To identify training needs in respect of Health and Safety & the Environment.

 

  1. Minimum Qualifications and Experience/Key Attributes
  • Good command, written and oral of English

  • Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Graduate of at least three years accredited science or engineering college or university programme

  • Successful completion in a technical college or at least 2 years of engineering or science study at an accredited college or university

  • Can provide documentary evidence of (has) completion of training and minimum on-the job experience, in the relevant discipline

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a mechanical engineering or mechanical construction / assembly type environment

  • At least three years’ experience working in a mechanical engineering or mechanical construction / assembly type environment / at least 1 year of which will apply to the oil & gas industry.

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in a mechanical engineering or mechanical construction / assembly type environment at least 2 years of which shall apply to the gas and oil industry and at least 1 year of which shall be performing inspection tasks

  • Experience of Document Review

  • Able to interpret engineering drawings (General Arrangement and Component Detail drawings).
