Our client, a quasi-governmental organisation, is seeking to fill the position of Divisional Manager Finance.

 

This position is a two (2) year contract, subject to renewal.  

JOB PURPOSE:

  • The incumbent is required to strategically manage the development, management and implementation of all the financial activities of the Finance Division to achieve the objectives of the Company.

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports to the Managing Director.
  • Works closely with personnel of Finance Division, service providers, internal and external stakeholders.

 

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides general advice and counsels in accounting services to the Company and other stakeholders.
  • Strategically plans, coordinates, manages and directs the work activities of the personnel of administrative and technical work in the field of accounting of the personnel of the Finance Division.
  • Implements and manages the Performance Management System for departmental employees.
  • Assesses the impact of proposed/existing financial legislations, regulatory policies, laws and regulations pertinent to the organization making recommendation for amendments.
  • Ensures the safety of all accounting records and stocks, safes and vault keys, by effecting the adherence to financial regulations and procedures relating to safety of financial stock.
  • Develops and manages department’s budget in accordance with strategic and operational plans.
  • Represents the Company at meetings and other fora on administrative and technical work in the field of accounting.
  • Prepares and submits reports in accordance with the Company’s requirements.
  • Liaises with internal and external stakeholders on various administrative and technical work in the field of accounting.
  • Performs related duties as directed by the Company.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Professional Accounting Qualification (ACCA) or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline;
  • Minimum Experience: Ten (10) years in accounting work in an administrative and technical work in the field of accounting with at least five (5) years managerial experience in a similar environment; or
  • Equivalent combination of experience and training.  

 

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Working knowledge of the Exchequer and Audit Ordinance and other financial rules and regulations relevant to the operations of the Company.
  • Working knowledge of the principles of office management and financial administration relevant to the operations of the Company.
  • Ability to plan and direct effectively extensive accounting operations.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct and co-ordinate the activities of a division providing legal services.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent analytical and reasoning skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and interpersonal).
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project).
