Director – UCC Foundation
The Director provides long-range strategic leadership and day-to-day administration of the UCC Foundation. The Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing aggressive and comprehensive fund raising campaigns, for pursuing fund raising strategies, such as planned giving, that enhance the long-term financial health of the foundation; for the recognition of donors; and for coordinating the distribution of foundation funds through student scholarships, and other means
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Achieving the UCC Foundation’s mission and financial objectives
•Working with the UCC President to shape the future of the Foundation
•Ensuring adequate resources to accomplish goals and to balance growth
•Other duties as needed
Development: Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive fundraising plan. Develop and sustain a diverse funding base with an emphasis on grant and proposal writing, corporate and foundation giving, growing the membership base and developing an individual donor base. Research, secure and manage funds from a variety of sources, and appropriate reporting to donors/grantors. Maintain complete records of fundraising efforts and donors to maximize results.
Program Management and Event Planning: Expand current programming within the guidelines of the organization. Work with volunteers to produce regular Foundation events. Assess programs with defined indicators, both for grant reporting and evaluation by the President. Establish partnerships with government, NGOSs and educational services. Cultivate and maintain a broad base of volunteers to assist with programming.
Financial: Develop and maintain sound financial systems, follow generally accepted accounting practices . Prudently manage the UCC Foundation’s resources within budget guidelines, within current laws and regulations, make decisions to maximize foundation resources and minimize waste. Work with the CEO/President to provide monthly financial reports and to develop and present an annual budget for approval. Work with the CFO to maintain accurate and timely records and comply with financial reporting requirements.
Community and Public Relations: Serve as a public advocate for the UCC Foundation locally and in the industry. Ensure the UCC Foundation and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders. Deepen and refine all aspects of the UCC Foundation’s communications – from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand. Create regular supporter updates through the internet, newsletters, and social networking.
General Administration: Follow established UCC Foundation policies and procedures, while expanding and revising to ensure the Foundation is operating using best practices. Prepare for anticipated growth of the UCC Foundation, including training, and performance management for staff. Execute legal documents (jointly with designated officers) and conduct official correspondence of the Foundation, including mail, telephone and email.
Qualifications:
•Undergraduate degree required in Business Administration, Accounting or related field. Advanced degree in non-profit management, or business preferred.
•At least five years Senior Management experience working in non-profit administration
Significant previous experience in fundraising (including grant and proposal writing, member and donor development)
•Previous experience in fundraising and marketing
•Passion for expanding a young organization, recognition of the unique challenges of this organizational stage, and the skills/knowledge to raise it to the next level of development

•Excellent computer and technology skills, including the ability to create dynamic presentations, webinars, email campaigns, and use social networking tools to advance the Foundation.
