Our Client based in Guyana is looking for an incumbent to fill the role of Director-Marketing in their information technology company.
Director-Marketing
ROLE
The Director of marketing plays a key role in living up to our brand promise ‘DO MORE’ by spearheading all existing and new initiatives to live up to this brand promise. She/he stimulates, motivates and manages the marketing team consisting of product managers, communication & PR executives and operational and segment marketers. She/he will work closely with other departments and reports to and brainstorms and spars with the Chief Commercial Officer. The role provides strategic and creative direction and leads the execution of marketing and product plans, brand employment, business intelligence, consumer understanding studies of Guyana Markets and its different business lines and segments. The person should control, review and guarantee the proper marketing mix strategy and efficiently administer and control resources and marketing budgets, using measurable marketing metrics.
She/he must have the experience, expertise, and skill set to:
• Lead vision towards consumer segmentation based on consumer understanding; and their action plans derived
• Develop, manage and implement a competitive, winning and segmented products and services portfolio;
• Embrace, manage and promote the Company brand and the brand promise;
• Build and manage a ‘winning’ marketing team;
• Support the sales teams in achieving their targets;
• Develop and deliver the marketing strategy in order to achieve the P&L and brand objectives.
• Provide strong analytical background to understanding the customer of all business lines and their consumption patterns
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
The key roles and objectives include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Initiates, develops, manages and markets a competitive product and services road map to deliver the market share and financial objectives of the businessDesigns products’ entire life-cycle
• Provides Consumer Insight, market potential, pricing, positioning, image, modifications (as required by market), distribution channels, and promotions associated campaigns and KPIs
• Promotes the brand and its services in a consistent, appealing and commercially viable manner ensuring maximum ROI of marketing expenditure through all consumer touch points, both externally and internally
• Supports the direct sales channel with sales support materials, lead generation, PR and events
• Supports the indirect sales channel by developing and executing dealer promotions, POS materials, merchandising and events
• Builds and manages a ‘winning’ marketing team and develop, implement and monitor and procedures appropriate to the day-to-day marketing and cross-functional business operations.
• Manages the delivery of consumer insights and drives the use of insights in planning and decision making within the organization
• Develops, optimizes and tracks annual marketing budget.
• Manages the media mix to ensure the marketing investment is used in the optimal way
• Manages agency and vendor relationships for brand development and creative outsourcing work
• Leads design of marketing plans, communication, commercial and promotional initiatives for all business lines
• Acts as primary contact with all marketing departments
• Seeks, evaluates and contracts agencies for the different affliates to the Company and designs trade marketing strategies and materials for all business lines.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The Marketing Director will have:
• Industry experience – 5 years plus in telecoms preferably in triple or quad play environment
• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience leading, coordinating and motivating marketing/ sales teams in telecommunications mobile (ideally) or FMG at a senior level industry.
• Marketing, business administration University degree required. Masters preferred
• Highly analytical and results oriented (long and short term)
• Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with segmented marketing approach and campaign management tools
• Experience in product development & project management; experience with agency relationships
• Experience in customer relationship management
• Team player, strong presentation and communication skills
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop and grow people for more challenging tasks
• Excellent MS Office skills
