Development Manager

Position Summary: This role which is based in Trinidad has responsibility for the acquisition and development of Talent and Organisational Development for our operations in the Caribbean. The incumbent will support The Corporate Talent Management and Organizational Development programmes by providing comprehensive support in the areas of recruitment and selection, performance management process, employee development and leadership programmes as well as developing policies and other initiatives to drive a culture of high performance.

The role will also be supported by and be responsible for the development of an HR Officer. There will be travel from time to time within the Caribbean region and on occasion internationally.

Essential Responsibilities:

TALENT ACQUISITION

  • Partnering with managers to determine resource priorities and competencies; leading the interview process and providing expert HR advice on candidate selection.
  • Creating networks locally and regionally for new talent through industry contacts, agencies, government bodies, professional associations and training institutions.
  • Recommend programmes for developing future talent in the business such as Internship programmes and university recruiting initiatives.

 

TALENT DEVELOPMENT

  • Partnering with the Senior Manager, Human Resources on developing and executing the Annual Corporate Training Programme which will include the Employee Educational Assistance Programme as well as assisting the Senior Manager HR in the Talent Review process.
  • Management of performance management tools for the purpose of building organizational and leadership strength.
  • Managing the Employee Recognition Programme.
  • Delivery of internal training program ie: Customer Service, Leadership Competencies, etc. as required.

 

ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support the Leadership Development Programme by leading initiatives to enhance capabilities of our management group.
  • Participate on our internal committees in order to support a customer service culture.
  • Remain active and visible within the organization to continually measure the climate and the culture of the organization in the implementation of responsibilities.

 

 

Key Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and influencing presentation skills.
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, quality and customer service oriented.
  • Able to work independently to generate ideas and also collaboratively within teams to implement them.
  • Must have high degree of personal and professional ethics and an outwardly enthusiastic level of energy and be able to easily develop rapport with others.

 

Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Studies, Human Resources or related field
  • 3 – 5 years of related experience in human resources
  • Knowledge of Labour Laws
  • Proficiency in Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel and especially PowerPoint)
  • Ability to speak Spanish will be an asset
