Our Client, the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (AATT), the premier provider of aviation driven business in the region is currently seeking to recruit a suitably qualified individual to fill the following position:
DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER, AIRPORT SECURITY
The Deputy General Manager, Airport Security, reports to the General Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for directing and controlling all security activities of the AATT. This includes formulating and developing security measures, investigations and inspections and training and deploying staff to ensure effective and secure operations.
The incumbent will be responsible for: ensuring that appropriate security controls in restricted areas of the airport are implemented; identifying security needs and arranging tests of security controls to assess their effectiveness; implementing and ensuring measures are in place to prevent weapons, explosives or any dangerous devices from being introduced on board an aircraft; developing and managing programs for the security of passengers and airport facilities; conducting disciplinary enquiries, investigating accidents and complaints as they relate to security staff and making appropriate recommendations, and developing effective working relationships with all airport security agencies.
The preferred candidate will have extensive knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to both the security of airports and to Estate Police Officers. The incumbent will be skilled in the use of firearms and be a Certified Auditor/Inspector preferably in aviation security, or in safety at a national or regional level.
Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Security Administration/Management, Public Administration or any other related field. He/she should have a minimum of ten (10) years experience in Security Management and Training. The ideal candidate will have extensive professional Law Enforcement or Aviation Security Management training, demonstrable experience in managing a large security force, and will possess excellent strategic, leadership and communication skills.
