Deputy Chief Financial officer

Salary: CI$61,224  - CI$82,356 per annum

The post holder will assist the Chief Financial Officer with budgeting, financial accounting and the reporting functions of the Ministry, including financial transaction processing, working capital management and the overall management of the Ministry finances.

 

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

 

  • Managing the day-to-day executive activity and accounting functions of the Ministry.

 

  • Maintaining payroll records for all Ministry staff, action payroll and deduction changes and run payroll as necessary.

 

  • Maintaining a Fixed Asset register and managing financial activity relating to Ministry assets.

 

  • Preparing periodic reports and other budget documentation for the Ministry

 

 

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

Successful Applicants should possess:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business discipline

 

  • A professional accounting qualification

 

  • At least 5 years’ accounting work experience. Management experience would be advantageous

 

  • Proficiency in financial accounting systems and advance spreadsheet applications is essential

 

  • Good oral and written communication skills and strong relationship management skills

 

  • Proven ability to analyze, interpret and report on financial information

 

  • Sound understanding of the Public Management and Finance Law and Financial Regulations is desirable
