Database Analyst

Description:

The Database Analyst will be responsible for the analysis, development and updating of reports, information systems, projects and tools for the Planning and Scheduling department. He/She will ensure that the appropriate documentation is completed for developed programs and ensure that users are adequately trained to use new systems.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• The analysis, development and updating of reports, information systems projects and tools for the Planning & Scheduling Department.
• Perform the programming testing and maintenance of Information Systems.
• Documentation of developed programs and creation of system manuals.
• Ensure that users are adequately trained to use new systems.

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate should have a degree in Business, Computer Studies or a related field.
• At least 3 years’ experience in Information Systems Development.
• Knowledge of Data Base SQL, Visual Basic and Microsoft Access.
• Knowledge of document analysis, data flow charts, documentation tools.
• Ability to investigate, evaluate and propose the use and development of Information Systems.
• Ability to organize and integrate data originating from the database in a coherent manner.

Skills Required:

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a methodical approach to work are essential.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills essential.
