About Cricket West Indies

Cricket West Indies (CWI), formally West Indies Cricket Board from 1996 to 2017 and West Indies Cricket Board of Control from 1928 to 1996, is the exclusive governing body for cricket in the West Indies. Its mission is to manage, develop and promote cricket to the benefit and enjoyment of the West Indian people and the world.

CWI has six members – the Barbados Cricket Association, the Guyana Cricket Board, the Jamaica Cricket Association, the Leeward Islands Cricket Board, the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board and the Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control. CWI is registered in the British Virgin Islands and headquartered in Antigua.

CWI also holds pre-eminent responsibility for the management, development and promotion of cricket in the region. CWI has a commitment and responsibility to the global governing body for cricket – the International Cricket Council of which the CWI is a full member – to participate in ICC tournaments and in international cricket. A key pillar of CWI’s business is the production and development of cricketers, particularly as it relates to having West Indies representative teams. CWI has development programmes at all stages of cricket in the West Indies – from grassroots to Test level.

Cricket West Indies (CWI), which is headquartered in Antigua, is the governing body responsible for cricket in the West Indies. Its mission is to manage, develop and promote cricket to the benefit and enjoyment of the West Indian people and the world.

CWI’s Secretariat comprises a team of sports management specialists who are passionate about the game and business of cricket; we are proud of our legacy but have our eyes set firmly on creating a new reality where West Indies cricket  is the sporting symbol of the West Indies, and Windies representative teams are the dominant teams in International Cricket. We are leveraging our strengths while building a team of talented professionals and are a representation of the unique diversity of the Caribbean with a strong international perspective.
