Crew Coordinator - National Energy Corporation - Couva / Point Lisas - Trinidad
CREW COORDINATOR
This position reports to the Port Captain with responsibilities that include the following:
Key functions:
§ Assists the Port Captain in the administration and monitoring crewing and manning contracts for compliance and cost control ensuring adherence to contract specifications and industry.
§ Assists the Port Captain in the development and maintenance of appropriate procedures and standards as it relates to interfacing with crew and resolving problems and conflicts.
§ Co-ordinates updating of records of all officers/crew in current employment and co-ordinate forward planning of relief/joining officers at optimum costs.
§ Verifies that job processes, job governing documents and data banks are adequate, and up-to-date, establish continuous quality improvement program where shortcomings are evident.
§ Informs Maritime Authorities of the managed ships on all special occurrences of the officers/crew and ships.
The minimum requirements for the position are:
§ Certification in Business Management and/or Science.
§ A minimum of three (3) years experience in related marine field.
Knowledge and Skills:
§ Comprehensive knowledge of the maintenance and operations of main and auxiliary propulsion equipment and systems for marine vessels.
§ Good interpersonal skills.
§ Ability to work in a team based environment.
§ Familiarity with STCW code.
§ Familiarity with ISM system and OSHA standards.
