To ensure portfolio growth and revenue generation from assigned accounts and prospects, consistent with both short and long range objectives of the Company.
Develop and maintain satisfactory customer relationships with both internal and external customers.
Partner with senior management to ensure that the credit risk of the portfolio is in line with procedure and the Company’s risk policy.
Reviews and authorizes loan applications for loans offers and/or to recommend applications for Authorization above approval limit.
Ensure that all credits are responded to within twenty four (24) hours.
Ensure that 100% of loan files are checked for accuracy before loans are passed for processing including but not limited to the following:
Transunion reports are correctly interpreted and transcribed onto the customer loan application form
TDSR is accurately calculated
Credit Scores are accurately calculated and signed
All required documents are seen and checked – for companies this includes an updated annual return and a valid Borrower’s Resolution
KYC requirements are fulfilled
The loan is approved according to company policy on limits of loan approval
The loan complies with company and statutory guidelines
Ensure that all credits are responded to within twenty four (24) hours.
Exercise due diligence when completing and recommending credit applications including: know your client, integrity of data and information, know and understand the transaction, obtaining and documenting verifications, structure of the credit deal including recommending the right product for the client.
Exercise sound adjudication of applications, adhering to all credit policies, procedures and delegated limits of authority
Focus on getting work right the first time and take appropriate action in response to close gaps identified through credit quality reviews/reporting or Head of Risk/CEO observations and coaching.
Adherence to Regulatory Compliance Guidelines, AML and MGFC's policies and procedures for all products and services and customer transactions.
Maintain knowledge of market and industry trends, competitors and emergent credit risks.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in Banking Finance or Business Management in related field from a reputable University.
At least three (3) years progressive experience in Retail Banking Operations.
Proficient in use of computer applications in particular Microsoft suite of products.
