Corporate Pharmacist

The Corporate Pharmacist provides strategic leadership to the Pharmacy Organization. All Senior Pharmacists report to the Corporate Pharmacist who reports to the Chief Operations Officer.

Functions:

• Sets, monitors and ensures compliance with all operating standards for the Pharmacy chain including:
• Legal requirements
• Ethical and patient safety
• Customer Service and
• Business Performance
• Prepares, maintains and ensures compliance with the manual of Standard Operating Procedures for the Pharmacy Organization
• General Pharmacy Contact with the external environment including:
  • Suppliers
  • Pharmacy Board
  • Ministry of Health
  • UWI School of Pharmacy
• Monitors pharmacy performance chain wide to ensure achievement of KPIs including:
  • Prescription processing time
  • Volume and sales revenue targets
  • Gross Margins
  • Operating Expenses and
  • Inventory Targets
• Collaborates closely with Store Operations Manager, Accountant, Inventory Manager and Warehouse Management to promote:
  • Effective communication and harmonious relations with all other colleagues and departments
  • Smooth and efficient customer service and store operations
  • Compliance with all relevant Occupational Health and Safety laws and regulations
• Collaborates with Category Management and advises in regards to:
  • Ethical and General Health Care assortment planning
  • Advertising and Promotions planning and content
  • Supplier Management Issues
• Collaborates with the HR Manager to support:
• Recruitment, orientation, training and development plans for the pharmacy organization
• HR policy compliance
• Collaborates with the Financial Director and assists in the development and management of all pharmacy related budgets and expenses
• Keeps abreast of latest developments in:
  • Pharmacy practice and technology
  • Maintains a culture and practice of Continuing Education throughout the Pharmacy Organization

 The successful candidate must possess:

•          Bachelor of Pharmacy and/or Diploma in Pharmacy

•          An active license as a registered Pharmacist

•          A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in Pharmacy management

•          Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (LS Retail) and QS1

•          Customer focused with strong leadership, superior communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
