FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Reporting to the Regional Controller and General Manager, the Financial Controller will coordinate and direct the accounting, controlling, finance and information technology functions. Reporting financial results and providing management with timely information to facilitate decision making are also key responsibilities of this position. The candidate will be required to implement, monitor and maintain effective internal controls so as to safeguard the company’s assets, ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and ensure compliance with the Laws of Grenada and ADM’s policies and procedures. As the Financial Controller, it is expected that the individual will partner with commercial and operations management to manage the business. Additionally, the Financial Controller will supervise a small accounting department and manage the general accounting, accounts receivable, invoicing, accounts payable, banking, payroll and data processing functions; and maintain proper books of accounts in keeping with applicable accounting standards. Manage the company’s trade receivable portfolio in keeping with company policy so as to ensure timely collection of debts and effective credit control. Tax planning, filing and compliance with all local applicable tax laws also form part of the responsibilities of this position.
The ideal candidate should possess a recognized professional Accounting designation (ACCA, CPA) with at least five years’ experience in a senior finance and accounting management position, preferably gained in a multinational environment. Significant computer literacy is essential. The position demands an astute and enthusiastic individual, who will proactively contribute to the strategic development of the organization, have a keen investigative and enquiring mind, with a strong bottom-line focus.
Well-developed time management, communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to establish positive relationships with functional managers and staff, and cultivate an infrastructure of support are as important as the ability to interact effectively at the highest levels.
