Provide civil/structural; electromechanical; project management support in planning, designing and construction supervision management of projects/ components of projects such as industrial parks, buildings and other related facilities developments.

Job Summary - Provide civil/structural; electromechanical; project management support in planning, designing and construction supervision management of projects/ components of projects such as industrial parks, buildings and other related facilities developments.

 

Duties & Responsibilities: The incumbent will be required to:

  1. Provide assistance in site investigations, collecting raw design data, sampling, liaising with relevant
    agencies on statutory requirements.
  2. Read and interpret design and construction drawings, schematics and system generated  reports.
  3. Undertake minor designs for development projects as required.
  4. Complete scope of works and engineer’s estimates for in-house construction projects as per request.
  5. Assist in preparation of tenders for in-house construction projects as per request and evaluations of these completed tenders.
  6. Review construction drawings in pre-construction and during construction stages to identify   any shortcomings that would affect the completion of a functional facilities/park/building.
  7. Assist in the supervision of consultants and contractors as they execute construction projects- industrial
    parks, buildings and other related facilities.
  8. Ensure that both contractors and consultants are complying with the construction work programme and technical specifications (carrying out relevant site inspections) of the respective projects during construction phase/s.
  9. Ensure that the contractors arecomplying with the projects’ approved quality assurance/quality control plans
    and HSSE standards.
  10. Attend all site progress meeting and visits scheduled by the e Teck and the construction team. Prepare daily,
    weekly and monthly progress reports for the department regarding the assigned projects.
  11. Participate in incident investigations, root cause failure/issue analysis.
  12. Update the Project Works daily/weekly/monthly, via the Project Management Software.
  13. Assist in the evaluating the performance of consultants and contractors.
  14. Comply fully with the Company’s policies and procedures, and adheres to the Company’s Core Values and Charter of Business Ethics by daily demonstration of associated behavior.
  15. Perform any other related duties as required by the job function.

 Education and Job Experience:

  1. Diploma- Civil Engineering Technician or related field from a recognized Institution.
  2. OHSA or any HSE Certification would be an asset
  3. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  2. Computer Literate with knowledge of Microsoft Project
  3. Technical Report Writing Skills.
  4. Supervisory Skills will be an asset
  5. Ability to locate problems and find solutions to them quickly and accurately.
  6. High level of integrity 
  7. Knowledge of Engineering Codes.
