We invite applications for a new Digicel Opportunity - Construction Engineer
Primary objective of the job:
- Coordinating the Construction/Installation, Maintenance, Repairs, and Rehabilitation of all Built Infrastructure.
Number of persons managed/supervised and their positions:
- Multiple Contractors
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the Design, Costing, Procurement, Installation, Maintenance, Repair and Disposal of Towers, Antennas.
- Coordinate the planning, surveys and construction and maintenance of Site Access Roadways, Perimeter Fencing and other Infrastructural aspects.
- Carry out Surveys, planning and implementation of Site Upgrades for all Network Services for installation of Cabinets and other Equipment, Electricals, Grounding and all other relevant civil works aspects.
- Manage construction upgrades for Built Structures such as Switch Buildings, Office Buildings parking facilities etc.
- Supervise the operations of CAD Technicians as necessary in developing drawings and designs for different aspects of the Digicel operations and Projects.
- Supervise the activities of relevant contractors on various major and minor construction projects.
Academic qualifications and experience required for job:
- BSc in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology
- Formal or on the job training in Project Management

Authority: (those task in which there is total control and autonomy in execution - e.g. approving vouchers, signing cheques, delegating task.) Please state limits where possible.
- Initial Sign-off on project design
- Initial sign-off Performa Invoices and Final Invoices.
- Directing project activity and Change control.
- Authorize/Signoff all CAD drawings for implementation.
