Primary objective of the job:
Manage the Operations and Maintenance of Digicel South OECS IT Network. These responsibilities include such tasks as all voice systems (PBX/IVR), Windows Servers, LAN, WAN and Internet Network, Network Nodes (routers, switches, access servers, radio links and hubs) PC network connectivity, PC applications and printers, system backups and support of Call center applications.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide support for Customer Care systems including PBX, IVR and associated platforms.
  • Provide escalation services to group to help address critical and/or persistent incidents
  • Perform planned maintenance and monitoring to ensure availability and quality of services and capacity to grow.
  • Configure and maintain IT security solutions for desktop and server environments in accordance with the wider IT Security policies for Digicel group.
  • Assist with the implementation and integration of other IT and Business projects as defined by the Group IT Technical Services Manager.
  • Performance Management: KPI development and reporting for major areas (i.e.. availability, performance, major issues
  • Vendor Management: Liaising and working with suppliers/vendors for escalation, negotiation, contracts, and new product assessment.
Academic qualifications and experience required for job
  • First Degree or professional qualification in the relevant discipline
  • 5+ year work experience in senior IT role.
Functional Skills
  • Strong technical knowledge in the following areas:
  • 4 years minimum working experience supporting, maintaining and administering core Microsoft technologies including Windows Server.
  • 4 years minimum working experience and expert knowledge with Microsoft Exchange administration and troubleshooting in a large-scale environment.
  • 4 years minimum working experience and expert knowledge of Active Directory administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting mobile email devices such as Blackberry (and other, similar technologies)
  • Sound working knowledge of Internet/Intranet technologies including security features.
  • Sound working knowledge of network infrastructure and operations, including switching, routing, Ethernet, TCP/IP.
  • Sound working knowledge of remote access technology.
  • Proficient and familiar with MS Office Professional Suite including the ability to fluently use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • SQL Server set-up and basic Database Administration
  • ISA Server Set up and Administration
  • Remote Client Access Administration
  • Web Applications knowledge -> Web Servers, internet,
  • Experience in configuration management, software maintenance and support.
  • Essential skills and experience:
  • Proactive and self-motivated, action orientated and effective and punctual with action completion and follow up.
  • Effective trouble shooting, problem analysis, and resolution skills.
  • Good reporting skills. Will be required to provide regular progress updates on overall system performance, major issues, issues resolution against agreed SLAs
  • Very good communications skills. Will need to be able to communicate effectively with a range of technical and non-technical personnel at all levels.
