 Our client is seeking to recruit a suitable candidate on a 6 mth contract.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

 

  • Monitors financial transactions across the network for trends/patterns and suspicious activities using applicable software
  • Reports promptly to Manager-Compliance any related suspicious activity and apparent risk to the Group
  • Ensures that all requests are reviewed and correspondence prepared within the specified timeframe
  • Files and maintains a proper filing system with records of all correspondence to and from the FIU in accordance with the Financial Obligations Regulations (FOR)
  • Assists the Manager-Compliance in the periodic/annual review of all new and amended Anti-Money Laundering /Counter Terrorist Financing (AML/CTF) policies and procedures developed by the Group to ensure that they are in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Provides day-to-day guidance to staff/Management and where necessary gives instructions regarding compliance with AML laws, regulations and policies, in particular Know Your Customer, Customer Due Diligence and Enhanced Due Diligence
  • Prepares correspondence to Branches/Units/Subsidiaries to ensure compliance with the Group’s AML/CTF Compliance Programme and other relevant Policies and Procedures as may be necessary

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

EDUCATION:

 

  • Five (5) GCE O’Levels Grades A, B and C or CXC O’Levels (General Proficiency) Grades I, II or III of which Mathematics and English Language must be at Grades I or II. Not more than two (2) of the other subjects should be at a grade III level
  • IBAF Certificate or Certification from the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) or the Florida International Banker’s Association (FIBA) (to be updated annually)

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of three (3) years in a Bank Operations/Audit/Legal or relevant business environment

 

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

 

  • Strong oral and written communication, time management and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal, decision-making, teamwork and cross selling skills
  • Strong Analytical, conceptual, research, negotiating, investigating and problem solving skills
  • Ability to use initiative, work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and use complex documents and forms
  • Professional deportment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of the Group’s regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Knowledge of the Group’s Operating Software Systems, Products and Services
