Choice Business Solutions believes there is no wrong person…….We know that everyone is unique and talented in their own way.  We are seeking the RIGHT individual to join an outstanding company as a Compensation Officer.

The RIGHT candidate must be able to:

  • Prepare payroll year end reports and annual returns of statutory deductions and statement of taxes and salary for respective authorities and individuals

  • Make all special time based payments to employees for special vacation, incentives

  • Ensure that compensation for separated staff members (voluntary/involuntary) are accurately calculated and paid over to affected staff members

  • Maintain proper records of all deductions made and paid on behalf of employees of the Group

  • Ensure the timely and accurate processing of the monthly payroll. Prepares and dispatches pay advices for employees on or by 25th of each month

  • Balance the payroll at the end of each pay period and ensures that the current month’s payroll data is securely maintained for use at the next pay period; and ensures the recovery of salaries paid on behalf of subsidiary companies are processed

  • Meet with Management to discuss and clarify requests for projects, highlight issues and make recommendations to address issues and priorities

  • Write detailed reports and make oral presentations to Management and staff respectively, for monthly, quarterly, or annual reviews

  • Identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to the organization

 

Qualification and Experience:

  • First Degree in Business Administration with emphasis on Accounting

  • A minimum of two (2) years related experience in compensation administration and/or accounting, preferably in multiple location environment

  • Sound knowledge of Jamaican Payroll taxes

  • Knowledge of current labour regulations in various international and regional jurisdictions

 

Other Requirements:

  • Experience using a HRM Software
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work with and through people to establish goals, objectives, and action plans
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public; apply general principles effectively to specific conditions
  • Ability to maintain composure and communicate effectively under stress; ability to perform effectively under competing and/or conflicting demands on time and self in a busy environment; skill and tact in dealing with others
