JOB TITLE: Product & Pre-Sales Manager
DEPARTMENT: Business Solutions
REPORTS TO (TITLE): MANAGED SERVICES
Primary objective of the job:
  • To Product Manage the Business Solutions Portfolio with particular emphasis on Cloud products, including processes and commercials.
  • Lead the development of new products into the markets.
  • Develop products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on industry experience and contact with customers and prospects
  • Work in a Pre-Sales capacity with the markets as required to support in developing solutions in the markets

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Working with the sales team to support the sales effort where required on identified opportunities and be seen as the technical authority and knowledgeable on the suite of product offerings from Digicel Business Solutions. The main activities will include the initial analysis, low level and high level designs, development of a solution, testing/integration, maintenance/support.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the product life cycle through product launch through end-of-life. You will be responsible for the planning, forecasting and marketing of the products under your remit.
  • Lead the Product function within Business Solutions, formulating pricing strategies, building marketing and sales collateral, and working with the sales and support organizations to ensure knowledge transfer and monitoring in life continuity of service.
  • Developing all required processes and procedures to ensure the smooth introduction of new and existing products.
  • Understand the full portfolio of products and services provided by Business Solutions and be prepared to develop and present on solutions.
  • Support the ICT Solutions Sales team and BDM's on all technical sales opportunities.
  • You will work directly with cross-functional teams from Engineering, Operations, Support, Marketing, Business Development and Sales to drive a successful product strategy that meets business and market objectives.
  • Responsibilities include creating product specifications and requirements with feedback from sales, marketing and customers. You will be responsible for the production of product related materials and for the formulation of training programs for internal and external customers.
  • You will also be responsible for clearly communicating to Marketing, Sales and Customers your market offering, pricing strategy, competitive advantage, roadmap, value proposition and competitive differentiation.
  • You will carry out market research within the Markets where appropriate, including international markets and be responsible for benchmarking your product portfolio against competitors both internal and external to our markets
  • Understand and articulate the features and benefits all product lines
  • Build the sales team capabilities through direct and indirect training. Work closely with the sales management team to ensure that adequate training, guidance and management attention is being provided to enable the teams to embrace products under remit.
  • You will be required to create product related marketing and proposal material for the sales organization, manage the market research activities around the products, monitor customer awareness and perception of our ICT product offerings.
  • Interface with Partners and Vendors as required to identify and deliver new and innovative solutions that sit within the overall Digicel Business Solutions regional ICT strategy.
  • You will provide monthly management reports on the agreed KPI's of the products under management.
  • You will manage vendor relations with the key suppliers that are involved within your product remit.
  • You will create, conduct and manage customer survey programs to monitor the continued feasibility of product offerings and where necessary input change control requests into the product roadmap based on results.
  • Build relationships with key suppliers, channels and customers to continue the evolution of the organization in line with our growth objectives.
  • Report on activities and make recommendations around technology direction and assessment of partner capabilities.
  • Update the weekly reporting requirements for senior management
  • Produce documentation and designs for the customer and to provide as handover to implementation and support.
  • Provide ongoing support and consultancy to the service organization after an implementation has been successful as and when required.
Academic qualifications and experience required for job:
  • Degree in Computer Science, IT or other related field
  • Minimum 5 years previous experience in a Product / Pre-Sales Management role
  • Strong background and understanding of ICT and/or telecommunications market.
  • Previous experience is highly desirable in a similar role.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of Cloud Based delivery models and products, including the services the support them.
Functional Skills:
  • Commercial and business acumen
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to synthesize large amounts of information, identify key market and user trends, and communicate the implications to marketing, planning and management.
  • Ability to summarize and consolidate complex information from multiple sources, as well as experience planning, conducting, analyzing, and presenting data from both qualitative and quantitative research studies.
  • Passion for learning about new technologies and market trends.
  • Self starter with high tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to present at board level to Corporate clients
