We invite applications for a new Digicel Opportunity - Chief Operating Officer
Position Description
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for commercial analysis and product design and development and will manage a group of senior managers and to drive none core revenues. As the chief operating officer he/she will provide leadership for all research and strategic planning process and will implement new programmatic strategic initiatives. In addition, the COO will: provide coordination for senior management team and in collaboration with the CEO work with the Board of Directors to keep them abreast of programmatic strategies, achievements and challenges.
The COO will partner with the CEO and her/his peers to lead the implementation and measurement of strategic programs to drive the achievement of business objectives.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Lead the development of all strategic initiatives and drive implementation
  • Develop and implement a system for tracking and reporting on the progress of all strategic initiatives
  • Develop and drive the pricing strategy
  • Provide effective and inspiring leadership by being actively involved in all programs developing a broad and deep knowledge of all aspects of the business
  • Identify opportunities to leverage cross-functional strength to take advantage of new opportunities and/or to address organizational challenges
  • Lead, coach and develop senior managers' capability in commercial analysis. Planning and business case development
  • Lead the development of annual budget and is accountable for budget management
  • Attend monthly board meetings providing an operational and commercial update
  • Ensure the continued maximum viability of each department through sound fiscal and hands-on management.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will partner with the CEO and work collaboratively with high-performance senior managers within his/her team as well as his/her peers on the Senior Management Team.
Specific requirements include:
  • A Graduate degree with at least 10 years of experience in a similar position
  • Proven track record of significant commercial achievement
  • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach senior level staff to manage and develop high performance teams and develop and implement program strategies
  • Deep experience in budgeting and fiscal management.
  • Track record of effectively leading a direct service organized with a complex array of programs with the ability to leverage strengths across program areas.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Analytic and decisive decision maker with the ability to prioritize and communicate effectively to staff key objectives and tactics necessary to achieve organizational goals.
  • Ability to point to specific examples of having led organizational transformation projects and program development.
  • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator at the highest level of an organization
  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, flexible, and innovative approach to operational management.
